First, fix your gut!

Yes, that’s right…

You need to know that some research shows that pollen is not the sole cause of seasonal allergies.


2.     Four points you need to understand about gut health:

  • You need to know that a reaction to pollen is a health sign you should not ignore.
  • Seasonal allergies are an overactive immune response from the body.
  • And what we now know is that 80% of the immune response comes from the gut.
  • The gut can be our best protector if we keep the inner flora or in other words, the bacteria healthy.


3.     The #1 cause of seasonal allergies

So, since an imbalanced gut causes allergy issues, what can we do?

First understand that in our modern world, we unknowingly do a lot of damage to the inner flora of the gut.

One really bad no-no to a healthy gut is to eat a diet high in

highly processed junk!

Yep, I know this may surprise you…

Processed food is super bad for the gut and in turn, it is super bad for our immunity.


4.     The symptoms of sneezing, hacking, itchy eyes and wheezing is an early warning health sign from your body

Researchers now see that seasonal allergies are symptoms we should not take lightly.

In fact, some are seeing that these symptoms are the body’s first gentle warning of worse autoimmune issues down the road if certain proactive steps are not taken.

The bottom line:

  • We now know that if the inner flora (bacteria) is out of balance, then the opportunistic bad bacteria take over.
  • Then these bad guys (harmful bacteria) excrete certain toxins from their metabolism into our blood stream where they do not belong!
  • The allergic reactions we experience are a sign of “leaky gut”.

Sarah points out that the annoying seasonal allergies symptoms like: sneezing, coughing, stuffy nose, itchy eyes, and even asthma are actually an extension of this leaky gut problem.

Turns out that a leaky gut and the overactive immune responses from this issue make us more reactive to things in our environment like pollen in the air.

Even more alarming, these kinds of overactive immune responses are a very mild autoimmune reaction that could advance to more severe autoimmune diseases down the road.

So, doesn’t it seem wise for us to learn ways to attend to our inner flora of the gut to prevent and/or heal allergies?


5.     How to improve our immunity through improving gut health

The first most important thing you can do to improve your seasonal allergies is to improve your gut health.

The first thing you need to do is to dump the

JUNK out of the diet.

No more processed “food”.

The bad guys love all that sugar, processed grains, and fake flavorings and chemicals that comes with highly processed so-called “food”.


6.     Examples of processed junk food:

I don’t’ have room to list every kind of junk food, but below are a few ideas to get you started.

Basically we are talking about virtually anything that comes boxed or packaged and that is a product from a big food manufacturer.

  • Virtually all breakfast cereal
  • Commercially made desserts
  • Commercially made candy
  • Cookies
  • Crackers
  • Chips
  • Pretzels
  • Microwave meals

You need to know that the bad guys (unhealthy gut bacteria) really thrive on this junk!

So, what you need to do is to starve their little butts and switch over to eating whole foods your grandmother would recognize.


7.     Go gluten-free to heal the gut!

    Kathy, thank you so much. I will get your book. If I can improve my allergies I will be happy. I tend to cough and have the dry itchy eyes. My kids do too. It’s terrible. I’d like to feel better. Thanks!
