Quick Gluten-free Breakfast: Try this 4-minute grain-free fat-burning breakfast

One of the most common excuses I hear from people regarding the consistent failure to eat a healthy breakfast that supports a fat-burning metabolism is that they “don’t have time” to make a breakfast like that and instead they end up resorting to blood sugar skyrocketing cereals, muffins, and bagels simply because those carb-based breakfast options are quick.

I say two things:

Until you kill the old belief that eating healthy means “too much time” then you will not easily achieve your lean body goals. Eating can be quick —see my breakfast idea below.

2. Although you may not see terrible health results from typical breakfast options, down the line you likely will, since most people start developing health issues after 40 and 50 years old after a life time of poor diet.

As you know, the grain-based high carb breakfasts listed above are the WORST thing you can eat if you want to be healthy and lose fat.  They spike blood sugar and insulin, crashing energy levels, and causing cravings and increased appetite by mid morning.  But a good egg or protein based breakfast has been proven in studies to help people maintain less body fat, stabilize blood sugar levels, and balance hormones when compared to carb-based breakfasts.

But what about the excuse about “not having time” to make an egg or protein breakfast?

Well, it’s FALSE!  First, if you don’t like eggs, you can always fall back on a great smoothie or protein shake type breakfast that only takes a minute to make… my NEW favorite is the amazing

But if you do like eggs, I’ve proven to myself and to my husband that you can make an egg breakfast in only 4 minutes…

Recently, my husband was late for an appointment in the morning and I told him to relax, I’d make something quick he could eat before heading out the door.

I knew I wanted to get some super high nutrition like eggs to satisfy his appetite until the afternoon, but didn’t have time to make a full blown scrambled eggs and veggies breakfast he usually likes.

 My 4-minute fat-burning breakfast:

So what I did was simply fry up 3 really quick eggs over easy and threw some hot sauce on top (Sriracha is Jim’s favorite!)

Then I cut up a small avocado on the side, a great source of fiber and healthy fats.  And I also added a couple big forkfuls of Kimchi (delicious fermented Korean style veggies, and a great source of gut healthy probiotics).

That’s it… It’s such a simple and delicious breakfast and literally only took 4 minutes to make!

Heck, it would take way longer than four minutes to run through a drive-through!

Experts tell us that this kind of nutrition keeps blood sugar low and stable, gives your body loads of important nutrients, and balances hormones that control your appetite for hours and hours.

    Kathy, you sure make it sound simple. I doo all the cooking for my family. To get them interested in eating no grains like bread or pasta seems impossible. I still appreciate reading about this. Thanks.

      Danielle, being open to new ideas is the first step. I myself see that my diet and nutrition has been a progressive, changing thing. None of this was overnight for me either. Perhaps for you the first step is to eat less processed food and remove all bakery items which tend to be highly refined. So remove commercially prepared cakes, muffins, bagels, boxed mixes, and instead make your own. Good luck.
