“You don’t stop laughing when you grow old, you grow old when you stop laughing.” ~George Bernard Shaw
Speaking of aging…
My birthday is coming up soon!
But I say, no big deal since I still love to laugh and enjoy life, and plus, the most important cutting edge nutrition step my husband and I use everyday is this one powerful food you need to know about and use.
What is it?
Probiotics in the form of traditionally fermented food.
Plus, the technique you are about to see is much less expensive than commercial probiotic supplements.
Remember, healthy gut = a long healthy life.
Now, don’t get me wrong…
A probiotic supplement is important to use when traveling, or you simply don’t’ have access to a good batch of fermented food or beverage.
My husband and I use some probiotic supplements, however, we primarily have homemade kifir, and fermented veggies which you can learn about at Dr. Mercolas page above.
Dr. Mercola was one of the main keynote speakers at the Longevity Now Conference I attended a couple of weeks ago.
Listen, the truth is that fermented food is ideal for optimizing health and slowing down the process of aging:
You see, research is clear that fermented food promote super good health and gut flora as we age.
Some recent research shows the microflora in the digestive tracts of seniors living in long-term care facilities is less diverse than their younger counterparts.
This lower diversity in good flora correlates with ill health and frailty.
According to the authors of the research, seniors may need certain dietary supplements to improve their microbial health
Since people over 60 can have as much as 1,000-fold less “friendly” bacteria in their guts compared to younger adults, an easy fix is to learn how to prepare easy to make fermented food at home.
Fermented food is much less expensive than probiotic supplements, plus, many experts believe the body gets so many other benefits that it just makes sense to make it ourselves and then see our health flourish.
I want this to get you thinking about using fermented food as one of your strategies for optimal health.
I will be making a video soon to show you how to make your veggies a probiotic powerhouse.
Now, share this now with all of your Facebook friends, they will thank you for it.

I’ve been wanting to prepare fermented food like this. It scares me a bit since I have never tried it. Can’t wait to see a video showing you actually preparing it.
Thanks Belynda, I have some fermenting in my kitchen right now. It’s my first batch and I will share the result with you when it’s done.
Happy Birthday Kathy. Looking forward to the video. Love Dr. Mercola!
